In the deeply emotional tribute, Ariana expressed shock and disbelief over his death. "I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this," she wrote.

"I’m so sad i don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. "

Ariana closed out the post by calling Mac "the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved."

Ariana also shared a touching video where Mac begins to speak before getting distracted and amused by her behind the camera. In the video, Mac can be seen smiling and laughing at Ariana's attempts to capture his words on film.

Mac Miller and Ariana Grande were together for a period in their lives, but also collaborated on their art with one another. Their songs together include Mac Miller's "My Favorite Part" and Ariana's "My Way", from her debut album.
