The finale of Grey's Anatomy season 14 is fast approaching and by the sounds of it, it's going to be "devastating."

The season 14 finale will be the last episode for Grey Sloan veterans Sarah Drew (April Kepner) and Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) who were "let go" from the series for creative reasons.

There's also a few storylines that need to be wrapped up before heading into season 15. Will Teddy come back to Seattle and profess her love to Owen... again? Will Meredith find success in her medical trial? Will Alex and Jo get married? How will April and Arizona leave? Will Callie return to bring closure to Arizona's storyline? Will someone die? When is the season finale of Grey's Anatomy season 14?

The finale episode will air on Thursday, May 17th on ABC and is titled "All Of Me" and will be directed by Debbie Allen, who plays Dr. Catherine Avery on the show. This will be episode 24 out of 24.

What will happen in the season 14 finale of Grey's Anatomy?

Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) has already revealed some details about what's going to happen in the final episode of the season and um... it doesn't sound promising. After being asked by a fan how the table read for the finale went, she replied "You know it was classic Greys....devastating with a side of absurdity" alongside three broken heart emojis.

"Devastating," huh? Are you thinking what we're thinking? It's almost been three seasons with no major character deaths which means, as per the unwritten rules of the show, that a devastating death is long overdue at Grey Sloan. But it looks like there's a possibility that both April and Arizona will be spared this time around.

In the penultimate episode, April was rushed into the OR after being found on a riverbank, cold and basically dead. She was brought back to life by Maggie. It was also revealed that April had rekindled her relationship with ex-fiance Matthew and it was strongly hinted that her story will end with her leaving with him. She's not out of the woods yet but things are looking promising in the promo trailer for the finale episode.

Things seem better for Arizona: She will be leaving Seattle for New York with Sofia and Callie and with Dr Herman in tow. And unless there's a VERY cruel twist in the final, it looks like both April and Arizona will get to walk away from Seattle with their legacies and their lives in tact.
