All the best new music in one handy playlist.

There was so much new music last month we almost had a nervous breakdown trying to pick our favourites.

It was a month of surprises. 5SOS changed direction, Britney made a shockingly good comeback track and we kinda liked a new Crystal Castes song...? Miracles are truly possible.

Don't forget to listen to PopBuzz Radio, where you can listen to many of these tracks and so much more. Just open up our PopBuzz iOS App or hit 'listen' at the top of this page on desktop. Oh, and let us know your favourites of the month too. Sharing is caring, ya'll!

1. 5 Seconds Of Summer - 'Girls Talk Boys'

5SOS have gone funk? Who'da thunk it! Seriously though, this is their best song yet and we're loving the new direction. Pop-punk will never die but the kids do grow up eventually.

2. ABRA - 'Vegas'

Take a little RnB with a touch of industrial and what do you get? ABRA, that's what. The Atlanta singer/producer has been called the "Darkwave Duchess" and we're inclined to agree. Her PRINCESS EP dropped this month and it's pure fire.

3. AlunaGeorge - 'Mean What I Mean'

AlunaGeorge have released three amazing singles this year. That's three more than Frank Ocean and two more than Fifth Harmony. Can we just make Aluna a mega pop star already and be done with it? Also, the horns on this track are fucking wild. New album I Remember drops September.

4. Angie - 'Smoke Weed Eat Pussy'

In a world where Uffie might be making a comeback, we need something to feast on before the main event. This track by Angie should do the trick.

5. Banks - 'Fuck With Myself'

She's back! And thank god, we missed Banks. This sultry number is basically a 'fuck you' kinda song and you can never have enough of those.

6. BloodBoy - 'Hey Kid'

LA artist Lexie Papilion caused a little bit of a stir when her last song 'Human Female' managed to rack up 200k plays on Spotify without any label, management or radio play. 'Hey Kid' is equally addictive and dramatic. We wouldn't be surprised if she got signed before the end of the year (if she hasn't already).

7. Britney Spears - 'Make Me...'

It's Britney bitch and her comeback song is actually amazing. She's not pandering to expectations or blindly following trends; Britney has made a brilliant pop song that is very much her own. Well done, Britney. We will never doubt you again.

8. Crystal Castles - 'Char'

It feels weird to write about new Crystal Castles without mentioning the very public falling out between former CC singer Alice Glass and her old bandmate Ethan Kath (with Ethan coming out of it looking particularly bad, if we're honest). But this new track, with new singer Edith Frances, is really good. Forgive and forget? You decide.

9. Father John Misty - 'Real Love Baby'

When FJM isn't trolling people at his shows or on his Soundcloud page, he likes to write really beautiful songs. This is a very good example of a very good FJM song.

10. Feed Me, Nina Nesbit - 'What It Feels Like'

Banger alert. Nina Nesbitt has teamed up with DJ and producer Feed Me for this dancefloor-ready electro pop number. It kinda makes me wanna join an aerobics class, in a good way.

11. Honne - 'Good Together'

London electro-soul duo Honne once likened their music to "driving late at night with the windows down, warm summer breeze coming in" and we honestly can't think of a better description of this song, which is very convenient for me tbh.

12. KDA, Tinashe - 'Just Say'

While Tinashe's label insist on ruining her career with bad songs and questionable collaborators, this hook up with producer KDA is pretty much the only good thing happening in Camp Tinashe right now. Let's hope this banger is a turning point in fortunes for Tinashe.

13. Lady Leshurr - 'Where Are You Now?' ft. Wiley

Queen of the scene and Snapchat princess Lady Leshurr continues to make strong headway with her debut album, due early next year. This bouncy kiss off to forgotten MCs is brimming with attitude and sass. Turn it up. Loud.

14. M.I.A. - 'Go Off'

If you can name one bad M.I.A song I will eat my hat, block you on all my social media feeds and make petty memes about you. Don't @ me.

15. Major Lazer - 'Cold Water' ft. Justin Bieber, MØ

If you haven't heard this song yet I don't know what to say to you. Log on to the internet more often? Turn on a radio?

16. PWR BTTM - 'Projections'

NYC's finest queer punks are set to re-release their debut album Ugly Cherries in the UK this October. As a special brucie bonus for fans who've already played the record to death (aka me), it's being repackage with two new tracks, including this raucous, guitar-shredding beauty 'Projections'. Slay.

17. Sofi Tukker - 'Drinkee'

Imagine a tropical house remix of early CSS and you're pretty much here with 'Drinkee'. It's lit.

18. Souls - 'Bad Girl'

This isn't your typical PopBuzz fodder but it's definitely worth a listen. Take Jungle's horn section and add Moby's Play-era field recordings and you should end up somewhere near this funky-electronica number by London producer Souls.

19. VANT - 'Karma Seeker'

If rock music can sound as revitalised as Vant in 2016, then there is hope yet for the flagging genre.
