Do you say "one eight two" or "one eighty-two"? Surprisingly, it's not a settled debate.

Those of us who grew up in the 2000s cannot deny the influence of pop punk legends Blink 182. One thing we all agree on is the fact that they dominated in their genre and continue to influence music today. Something fans can't seem to agree on is how to actually say their name.

People are divided over whether the number in Blink 182 is pronounced "one eighty-two" or "one eight two". Now, there is a third option which is "one hundred and eighty two" but we've literally never heard anyone say it like that so we'll just put that one aside for now.

It all started when Late Late Show with James Cordon head writer brought attention to the fact that British people tend to pronounce Blink 182 like "blink one eight two".

Obviously not all British people pronounce it like "one eight two", but everyone I've ever spoken to who said it like that has been British. Make of that what you will.

Lots of people chimed in at this point with their own theories on why it's pronounced one way or the other.

James Cordon even chimed in with his own thoughts on how to say 182.

So, how do you actually pronounce Blink 182?

Well, if we're SOLELY going on how the band pronounce their own name, it's "blink one eighty-two". Here's one of the many times they introduced themselves in interview.

However, Mark Hoppus' verdict is that we're all focusing on the wrong thing.

Well, now that Mark has spoken, we can hopefully put this confusing episode behind us.
