11 Iconic Music Video Locations That You Can Actually Visit IRL

Ever wanted to know where TØP filmed the 'Stressed Out' video?

Everybody knows that the best part of a music video is the setting - especially if it's a real life setting. We're not talking studio sound stages, or any of the CGI business. Here are some of our IRL favourites, and where to go to grab that extra special Instagram snap!

1) 'Stressed Out' by Twenty One Pilots

The video was shot in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio - where both Josh and Tyler grew up. Obvz, we're not gonna spill the deets on the EXACT location because their families still live in the area but if you do enough sleuthing on Google Maps, we're sure you'll be able to work it out. Brb, we're off see a man about a tricycle.

2) "Robbers" by The 1975

Remember that dreamy throwback cinema in the 'Robbers' video where Matty takes his GF? It's real - more speficially, you can find it at 514 Center St, Taft, CA. Grab someone who has long messy black hair and a Mancunian accent, buy some popcorn and dream about your outlaw life with Matty while you're watching the silver screen.

3) "Work" by Rihanna ft. Drake

What do you wanna do tonight? Do you wanna twerk in the club, or do you wanna tuck into some Jamaican jerk chicken? Good news - you can do both at the setting for Drihanna's Work, 'cause it's a real place! The Real Jerk is actually a genuine restaurant located at 42 Gerard St. East in Toronto. Put on your matching OVO tracksuit and tuck in!

4) "Colors" by Halsey

You might recognise Halsey's house in this one. All that woodwork? Those stained glass windows? Yep, you guessed it - Halsey's video was shot the INFAMOUS 'American Horror Story' Murder House! In real life, it's the Alfred Rosenheim Mansion and is located at 1120 Westchester Pl, Los Angeles. *books a flight for this long awaited pilgrimage*

5) "Wannabe" by Spice Girls

If you don't recognise this music video as one of the most iconic events of the '90s then we don't know what to say to you. If you're in London and you're looking for the perfect pop culture inspired Instagram snap, round up four of your closest gal pals and head to St Pancras Renaissance Hotel to channel your inner Spice on the very staircase where Girl Power was born.

6) "Telephone" by Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé

After Gaga is released from Litchfield, she heads on a cross country excursion with Beyoncé in the pick up truck from Tarantino's 'Kill Bill'. If you ever find yourself on a Californian road trip, make sure you made a stop where the two of them made culinary history. Remember the all-American diner they stopped at to perform that killer dance routine? It's at 14999 East Avenue Q, Lake Los Angeles and yes, it is smack bang in the middle of the desert.

7) "Centuries" by Fall Out Boy

First time we watched this Gladiator inspired video, we were CONVINCED it was all CGI'd. But guess what - it's a real place! You can find FOB's 'Colosseum' at the historical Fort Henry in Ontario, Canada. Now, if only we could persuade our parents to pay for a family trip to Canada...

8) "Firework" by Katy Perry

Remember that gorgeous scene in KP's video where all the kids run into the courtyard of this grand building and set off the fireworks within their hearts? The scene that looks like a happier version of the Battle of Hogwarts. It was filmed in Budapest at Buda Castle in the heart of the city. Insta-worthy.

9) "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift

No matter your stance on Shifty Swifty, you can't deny that she snapped up on the most INSANE locations for her Blank Space video. The exact location? It's Oheka Castle, which is located in Huntington, New York in Long Island - where they also filmed Gossip Girl. I WANT TO GO TO THERE. AND STAY THERE FOREVER.

10) "Miss Jackson" by Panic! At The Disco

Another pit stop on your inevitable Californian road trip! If you've ever wanted to sleep in a room that Brendon Urie and his gold blazer spent a long, sweaty film shoot, now is your chance. 'Miss Jackson' was shot at Motel 6 in Barstow, CA. No one can arrest us for asking the receptionist which exact room he was in, right?

11) "Born To Die" by Lana Del Rey

GRAB YOUR FLOWER CROWNS, LADIES! 'Cause we're off to France! Lana's most iconic video (don't argue) was shot at the INCREDIBLE Palace of Fontainebleau located just outside of Paris' city centre. The Chateau is actually a museum so you can LITERALLY walk down the opulent ballroom free of charge!
