Tell it like it is, sister.

Olly Alexander, the Wokest Bae in Wokingdom, has dragged former UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, on Twitter after he was awarded "Ally of the Year" by an LGBT news outlet.

In case you missed it, a shit show went down on gay twitter yesterday when PinkNews crowned the former Prime Minister as it's "Ally of the Year" award in London. The award was given to Mr Cameron for overseeing the legalisation of same-sex marriage while he was in office, although this happened in 2014.

yearsandyears

It was a controversial choice because Cameron's voting history, and his Government's record on LGBT issues, was far from progressive. This includes voting against gay adoption on multiple occasions, refusing to introduce queer sex education in schools and the fact that his austerity-led economic policies disproportionally affected LGBT people.

His decision to back gay marriage was also seen by many as one of political expedience, aka, it would make him more popular. He had dragged his feet on the issue before.

Olly Alexander was one of many voices who brought this hypocrisy to light, tweeting, "NO WORDS FOR THIS AMAZING FRESH PILE OF STINKING MISERY"

This latest tweet from Olly is just one of many issues he has spoken out on, including a rousing speech at Glastonbury about gay rights as well as mental health issues, or non-binary gender and sexual identities. Keep fighting the good fight bbz!
