Tekashi 6ix9ine pleads not guilty in court but will still serve jail time

It's not looking too good for Tekashi 6ix9ine right now. The FEFE rapper just plead not guilty for his racketeering, conspiracy to commit murder and drug distribution charges, TMZ reported. 6ix9ine was hauled into jail on November 18 for a slew of serious charges alongside his ex-manager Shottie and two other alleged members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang.
6ix9ine will stand trial in September 2019, which means he's going to be waiting behind bars for almost a year. Tekashi – born Daniel Hernandez – was previously denied bail which means it's likely he will actually have to spend that time locked up.
TMZ also reported that Tekashi had been transferred to a federal facility that is regularly used to house witnesses who cooperate with the police. He was also allegedly moved to keep him away from other rival gang members.
In case you've been living under a rock, Tekashi has been accused of conspiring to commit various crimes including drug deals and even shootings. He could be sentenced to life in prison for these charges, which carry a mandatory 32 years inside.
To make matters even worse, Tekashi's album DUMMY BOY – which featured Nicki Minaj and Kanye West – was meant to drop on November 23 but it was pulled. "For reasons beyond music, the record company will hold off on putting his project out for now," Nicki wrote on Instagram. However, the album was leaked online days later. It's not clear who leaked the album but it appeared on Tekashi's official website before being ripped offline.
