The 2018 MTV VMAs took place last night and they were everything. Not only did they feature stunning performances by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Travis Scott but they also blessed us with shocking moments courtesy of stars including Tiffany Haddish and Maluma. Not to mention, Camila Cabello won both Video of the Year and Artist of the Year and Cardi B took home the prestigious Best New Artist award.

However, the night belonged to Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Not only did they both own the stage (Ariana sang 'God Is A Woman' like an angel and Nicki delivered an epic Queen medley) but they also received major awards for 'No Tears Left to Cry' (Best Pop) and 'Chun-Li' (Best Hip-Hop). Perhaps best of all though, their friendship was on full display all night and now one of their interactions is a meme.
From Ariana lifting the train of Nicki's dress so that she didn't trip over it to Nicki shouting out Ariana during her acceptance speech, there were plenty of adorable Ariana and Nicki clips that could have transformed into memes. However, the internet is a messy bitch who lives for drama and the moment that has become a meme is a little more shady.
During the broadcast a conversation between Ariana and Nicki was captured on camera and it's all kinds of hilarious. First you can see Ariana whisper something to Nicki. Nicki then serves some major side eye, shakes her head and responds to Ariana. It ends with Ariana laughing.
