Nicki Minaj and Future sent fans into a frenzy in June when they revealed that they would be going on a joint world tour this year. The rap titans have dominated the industry for more than a decade and the prospect of seeing them both at the same concert is huge. Just the thought of hearing hits like 'Anaconda' and 'Mask Off' performed in the same setlist is enough to make even causal hip-hop listeners hyperventilate.

However, recent circumstances have affected the hype surrounding the NickiHndrxx tour. On Sunday Nicki released a brand new single with 6ix9ine called 'FEFE'. The track has been streamed over 30 million times already but it's also received huge criticism. Reports have surfaced that 6ix9ine pled guilty to 'use of a child in a sexual performance' in 2015 and many fans are outraged that Nicki would work with him.

To add to the backlash, Nicki and Future have just revealed that 6ix9ine will be one of the acts supporting them on their new tour. On Instagram, Nicki wrote: "@6ix9ine_ is 1 of the 3 artists that @future and I have added to the #NickiHndrxx WORLD TOUR. Tickets come w|a physical copy of #QUEEN which will be released on August 10th. Tour link in bio. #Fefe #1 on APPLE MUSIC, TIDAL, YOUTUBE, #2 on SPOTIFY, #3 on iTunes."

Unsurprisingly, many people are not happy with Nicki and Future's decision to work with 6ix9ine.

Here are just a few of the reactions to the news so far.

6ix9ine is one of three acts who will open for Nicki and Future on their joint tour. It's currently unclear if he will perform at all of the NickiHndrxx dates or a select few. As it stands the two other support acts are yet to be announced.
