Season 7 of Netflix's iconic prison drama will serve as the final season of the show.

Say goodbye to your favourite inmates because Netflix have just announced that Orange is the New Black has officially been cancelled at the streaming service and will end with season seven.

Orange Is The New Black was one of Netflix's first scripted shows. It amassed a HUGE audience and won a ton of awards. Back in 2016, Netflix renewed the series for 3 more seasons, essentially guaranteeing that the show would make it to a seventh season. But now, it's been revealed that season seven will officially be it's last.

The final season was also announced on Twitter via an emotional video straight from the entire cast, including Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Danielle Brooks, Uzo Aduba and Natasha Lyonne.

Despite a ton of cliffhangers, season six already set up the seventh season for a potential ending with Piper's release from prison anyway so the cancellation shouldn't come as a huge shock to fans. But regardless of what we already thought might be coming, we're sure as hell gonna miss the Litchfield gang.

While there's no official release date for the seventh and final season, you can probably expect the show to drop on the streaming service in June or July 2019.
