Armie Hammer is being dragged for criticising celebrities' Stan Lee tributes

The 'Call Me By Your Name' star called out people for posting selfies with Stan...
Stan Lee passed away yesterday at the age of 95.
Following the news, tributes have poured in from friends and family of the beloved Marvel writer, editor and publisher. Stan is best known for co-creating characters such as Spider-Man, Black Panther and Thor. Throughout his 79 year career, the pop culture icon touched the lives of millions of people and fans and celebrities took to social media yesterday to honour him.
However, Armie Hammer was not impressed with how people reacted and now people are calling him out.
The Call Me By Your Name star tweeted: "So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee... no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself." Celebrities including the likes of Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr. and Hugh Jackman shared photos with Stan in the wake of his death.
Armie voiced the character of Strong Arm in Stan Lee's animated feature Stan Lee's Mighty 7.
Here is the tweet in question...

Unsurprisingly, fans were not at all impressed with Armie's comment on Stan's death. Replies to the tweet ranged from "sis they’re remembering their experience with him, it is not that deep" to "Aaaaaaaand just by telling people how to grieve, you've made this wonderful man's passing, all about you. I'm a fan of yours 100%, but this was just not right."
As opposed to listening to the advice, Armie responded to a few of the tweets. When a person wrote "They... worked with him...?", he replied: "Me.... too...?" and when a fan asked: "what else u supposed to do when someone dies armie", he added: "If your answer is “post a selfie” then I think we need a cultural revamp across the board."
Someone suggested: "Maybe they’re just remembering how it felt to meet him with those photos. That’s how I would feel. I never got the chance," and Armie clapped back: "If Stan impacted your life (ie. All of our lives) with his work, post his work that touched you the most. Posting a selfie makes his death about you and how cool you felt taking a picture with him."
...and here are Armie's additional tweets.
Me.... too...?

People should be able to grieve in peace without someone policing it. With that in mind, the internet is now having a field day with Armie's comments and dragging him for them.
A few of the memes and reactions.

i for one hope my passing is remembered not by people revisiting their memories of me but with snide, unpleasant tweets about how people choose to grieve that make the moment not about me at all, but instead about some next man’s self-perceived superiority https://t.co/OL9A0GzTfr

Kudos to you for finding the strength at a time like this to school everyone on the proper way to grieve or remember someone who impacted their life.

Don’t hurt yourself falling off your high horse Armie. Like seriously chill and let people grieve the passing of someone the way they want/need to without coming across as judgemental and harsh.

Armie is yet to apologise for or back down from his original remarks. We shall update you if he does.
