Yeah, well, that's exactly what we've been experiencing with this guy. He popped up this week on Halsey's Instagram while she's in Paris for Fashion Week. Not too shabby.
His name's Blackbear and he's an R'n'B singer from California. And he's a pretty good one at that.
He's been snapping away in Paris too. Looks on fleek, fellow kids.

Blackbear has an interesting past. He originally started out as a record producer under his real name Matthew Musto. Most notably, he co-wrote Justin Bieber's underrated banger "Boyfriend". Clearly, we're dealing with an OG here.
He wrote with a host of other musicians like Rivers Cuomo, Pharrell Williams and Childish Gambino before reinventing himself as a R'n'b singer.
If you haven't heard his music before, you should check out the genre-defying Sex The Mixtape, which has become a bit of a sleeper hit since its release in 2012.
An EP and two albums have followed since, all independently released (at least, as far as we can tell). We've been digging "Slide Through" which got the video treatment back in January.
And if we haven't sold him to you yet, you should listen to "Idfc" and pray for salvation in heaven. It's already got an eye-popping 11.7 million plays on Soundcloud.
