Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has a distorted edge effect in some scenes, and viewers are commenting on the fact that it's more than a little distracting.

The edges of many scenes are out of focus or blurred and it is inspiring many questions from fans about the unusual filter.

The blurred edges have people trying to adjust their eyes and devices.

People with poor eyesight will recognise the blurry effect from walking around in the morning before they've put their glasses on.

So, why are the edges blurry in some Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Scenes?

The blurred effect is likely a tool to make Chilling Adventures more stylised and set it apart from other shows.

Considering that Sabrina has a long legacy and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is also a head writer and producer on Riverdale, the desire to distinguish the show from its peers and predecessors must have been great.

Sabrina has an eerie quality to it and the blurred edges often come up when something witchy or spooky is taking place. The effect can be a little disorienting at times but, again, it appears to have a specific mood setting function.

What did you guys think of the blurry edges on Chilling Adventures? Did it add to the moodiness of the series or just make your eyes hurt?
