Noah Centineo Almost Quit Acting Because Of Disney

It's hard to imagine life before Noah Centineo soared into superstardom. In just under two short months, the 22-year-old has gone from being a fan favourite on The Fosters to one of the finest on-screen heartthrobs of our generation. It all started in August when he starred as Peter Kavinsky in To All the Boys I've Loved Before and won the hearts of millions of viewers. He then did the same as Jamey in Sierra Burgess Is A Loser in September.

The stats are outstanding. Before either of these Netflix rom-coms aired, Noah had just over 800,000 followers on Instagram; he now has over 13.2 million and it keeps rising by the thousand hour on hour. However, Noah's road to the top hasn't been as easy as it may look from the outside. He just revealed that he has faced one or two setbacks that made him reconsider being an actor in the first place.

Speaking to Star2, Noah opened up about his early days as an actor and some of the tough times he went through when he started out. Longterm fans of Noah will already know that he got his first big break playing small roles on various hit Disney shows (Austin & Ally, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jessie etc.) but you may not know that he actually landed a lead role in a Disney series that never aired.

Yes. Noah could have had had his own Hannah Montana moment. However, the Disney pilot that he filmed was shelved and he was unable to book jobs or even audition for other shows for six months because of contractual obligations. In his own words: “It got dark. I’m like, what am I doing with my life? Who cares if I’m an actor? Who cares if I’m successful?"

“And as soon as I realised yeah this isn’t for me … my life, my career, everything I do should be for others, there should be a deeper purpose outside of wanting to get money and be famous and live my own passion, that’s when The Fosters hit and I don’t believe in coincidence.”

While it's sad to hear Noah ever doubted himself, it's great to hear him be so candid. His words act as a reminder that there is no time limit on achieving your dreams and even some of the most successful people in the world have had to work hard to get where they are.
